Apple has been evaluating MediaTek Chispe for the last 5 years just because of integrating the new 5G RedCap (5G Reduced Capability) modem into the watch. This feature doesn’t require full 5G for the wearable device like iOt (Internet of Things). It can run all the services even on the minimum data speed and lower consumption.

These 5G RedCap features give full strength for the Sensors and other connectivity data even on the lower data consumption. According to MacRumors, Intel is limited to the 4G LTE Services but MediaTek gives solutions for future upgrades.

Why It Matters?

In 2024, Apple’s growth was limited while Samsung’s Smartwatch was grown to 4th Rank. Still, Apple Watch is on the top but Samsung’s Galaxy Fit 3 was growing more than Apple’s watch, and just because Apple doesn’t give innovations on the device Samsung has integrated many new features also AI modules.

Apple is looking to introduce some innovative features in the next upcoming smartwatch rumored to have Sattelite Connectivity, Blood pressure Measurement, and a few AI features also in it.

According to the TechNode report, MediaTek’s Revenue reached up to TWD 131.813 billion which acquired a 19.7% increase compared to the last year’s same period. But this time it has some innovations in the chipset, Launching many powerful chipsets and the most popular was Dimensity 9400 which was built on TSMC’s latest manufacturing processes.

That is why MediaTek is now the most competitive Chipset for the Snapdragon and Intel processors.
