Recently the company has pushed the final software update with the version number AP2A.240805.005.S4 based on the August 2024 security patch update.

The phone has essentially reached the end of its life in August 2024, and its software support from Google will be discontinued, meaning it will not be able to receive any future updates but still company has rolled out the November 2024 minor update for the Pixel 5a by saying last update. However, we have seen several instances where Google has provided a few minor security updates for older phones that have been retired.

As we remember, the Pixel 4a and Pixel 5 were retired by Google at the end of 2023 but still company has pushed the February 2024 minor update to the phone.
