BGMI Ban 2025: Another heartbreaking news for BGMI/PUBG Fans because BGMI may face another ban in India. An F.I.R. filed on 5th April against the Game Developer KRAFTON for Data Breaching and Unauthorized Selling allegations.
The case was filed in Akluj Police Station, Maharashtra, on September 5, 2024, and the Bombay High Court scheduled a hearing on April 15, 2025, which may cause another Ban on this Battleground game.
This is not only the first case against him, but this game was surrounded by a lot of allegations of data breaches multiple times, and as a result, it was already banned in India on 26th May 2023. However, after some time and multiple petitions, the game was returned on May 29 of the same year.
Before this, it was PUBG Mobile, which also faced the same allegations and was banned in India and closed all the doors of returning, then the developer developed an Indian Variant of PUBG Mobile called BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India) and relaunched on June 17, 2021.
KRAFTON Faces BGMI F.I.R.
Santosh Torane, a citizen of Maharashtra, filed an FIR with some agreement violations. According to him, the KRAFTON anti-fourexecutives are selling the users’ data on Telegram for Rs 2000 per subscriber.
According to the Times of India Report, the FIR No. 474/2024 also includes serious charges such as criminal conspiracy (IPC 120-B), cheating (IPC 420), and violations of Sections 72, 72A, and 85 under the Information Technology Act, 2000.
The Judicial Magistrate First Class assigned the Akluj police to investigate the case on August 28, 2024 by following the submission of evidence. Just around this incidence, the Game Devloper KRAFTON has also submitted two written Petitions since then.
The Bombay High Court’s Justice Sarang V. Kotwal and Justice Dr. Neela Gokhale as now announced a possible final hearing on April 15, 2025.
Will BGMI be Ban In India?
The BGMI was already banned in india in case of almost similar allegetions, now it hitted back again. However, till now, the evidence and allegetions has not confirimed publicly, but if KRAFTON’s BGMI found in data breaching and unauthrozed selling of users data, it may face permanent ban like PUBG Mobil in 2020. However, KRAFTON has denied all the allegations and said the Users’ Data is secured.
